Our Path to the Homestead

Every house we have owned was going to be our 5 year house – up until our last house, which was going to be our 25 year house. Buying a house is a funny experience though… You spend 30 minutes looking at it and then decide if you would like to plunk down hundreds of thousands of dollars on it  and commit to a 25 year payment / LIFE plan. It is actually insane when you think about it – you probably spend more time at the car dealership then you do when buying a house.

Our Month, in Review

It’s hard to believe that we are through November already and Christmas is 3 weeks away. November was a typically busy month for us with the added stress of a toddler’s birthday party thrown in the mix. Big H celebrated her 2nd birthday in November and Little H continues to grow like a weed. He has officially surpassed Kyle’s baby stats and Kyle is almost 6’5″ – NHL, here he comes!

Before and (kind of) after…

This is the fourth home Kyle and I have owned and the fourth home we have put pretty extensive renovations into – BUT it is the first home where we haven’t done pretty much everything ourselves. Since we were dealing with a toddler and because I am pregnant with our second child it was impossible for us to do the all of work ourselves. We hired Kyle’s dad and sister (who have a renovation company) to do most of it for us which was fantastic. Because of this though, I don’t have a lot of progress shots. Here is what I DO have…
